Payroll Point returns federal taxes plus every state and local tax that applies at an employee’s home and work addresses, for both the employee and the employer. Use this page to check whether the taxes you need are covered. For how Payroll Point decides which jurisdictions apply to an address, see Tax jurisdictions.

Federal

Federal taxes come back on every lookup, since federal withholding doesn’t vary by address. They’re identified by the federal location code 00-000-0000 and a state code of 00.

State

Local

Local coverage is where Payroll Point does most of its work, because these taxes depend on boundaries that don’t follow postal lines.

Employer

Beyond the employer taxes listed above, Payroll Point returns percent-of-payroll and head taxes (ER_POP, ER_EHT), which are calculated on total payroll or headcount rather than an individual paycheck, and a set of single-jurisdiction employer taxes such as ER_EMAC in Massachusetts and ER_ECET in New York. For every code with its jurisdictional notes, see Payroll Point tax types.
