Minimum Wage Finder (MWF) Portal provides a user interface to return up-to-date minimum wage rates for employees using Maps and Batch. This guide walks a new Portal user through logging in and running a first rate lookup. Building your own integration instead? See the Quickstart: Call the MWF API. For a comparison of the two, see Portal vs. API.

Before you begin

You’ll need an authorization key to log in to Portal. If you don’t have one, contact your Symmetry Client Success representative or reach out through the Client Support Center. See Prerequisites for the account setup your administrator needs to complete, and the entitlement that controls whether rates are returned at all.
You will have different authorization keys for the production and staging environments.

Step 1: Log in

Navigate to Portal and enter your authorization key on the landing page. The Minimum Wage Finder Portal landing page with the authorization key field

Step 2: Run your first maps lookup

Maps returns minimum wage rates for a single work address and shows the geospatial boundaries that apply to each rate.
  1. Navigate to the Maps tab.
  2. Enter a work address into the search pane and click Find minimum wage.
  3. Expand the location portlet on the left side of the application to review the normalized address, geocoordinates, and every minimum wage rate returned for that location, one row per applicable authority (federal, state, county, city).
See Authority levels to understand why more than one rate can be returned for the same address, and Maps for map display settings.

Step 3: Run your first batch (optional)

Batch returns minimum wage rates for multiple work addresses at once, either from a CSV upload or entered manually.
  1. Navigate to the Batch tab and click Import batch to upload a CSV of work addresses, or click New batch to enter addresses manually.
  2. Click RUN on the batch to process every address in it.
  3. Once the batch status shows Done, click the results button to view the minimum wage rate for each address, and download the results as a CSV.
See Batch for the full batch creation and import walkthrough.
