Event Types
Below are the event types clients can "listen" to within the Symmetry Tax Engine and be notified of when changes occur.
Event | Description |

All events | All events monitored within the Symmetry Tax Engine (listed below). |
New tax IDs | Occurs whenever a new tax is added to the Symmetry Tax Engine. |
New parameter | Occurs whenever a new parameter is added to the Symmetry Tax Engine. Parameters are used to calculate federal, state, and local taxes. |
New rate | Occurs whenever an existing tax is updated within the Symmetry Tax Engine. |
Parameter edit | Occurs whenever an existing parameter is updated within the Symmetry Tax Engine. Examples include metadata changes to the regular expression or description, in addition to default value changes or other changes. |
Database edit | Occurs when there is a change in the code that doesn't meet any of the criteria of the other event types. |
Tax removed | Occurs whenever an existing tax is deleted from the Symmetry Tax Engine. |
Parameter removed | Occurs whenever an existing tax parameter is deleted from the Symmetry Tax Engine. |
Audit correction | Occurs whenever there is a change to a tax (for example, a change to a credit limit) that has an effective date in a previous calendar year. |
